Is a DMCA notice anonymous?

Not fully, and it's better to know before you file. A notice has to carry a signature and contact details for the rights holder or someone authorized to act for them. What happens to it after that depends on who receives it.

Who can end up seeing it

WhoWhat happens
The site or providerGets the notice itself. In the EU, a Digital Services Act notice needs your name and email.
The uploaderThe law expects the provider to tell the person who posted it. Reddit says it will notify them. Some recipients forward the notice itself.
The public, for Google noticesGoogle shares qualifying copyright requests with Lumen, a public database, and can link to the request in place of the removed result.
Website operator and host, behind CloudflareCloudflare forwards complaints to both. For some complaint types you can ask it not to forward to the operator.

Does using an agent hide my name?

An agent can sign instead of you, since the law accepts a person authorized to act for the owner. It doesn't make you invisible: the notice still has to identify the work, and your original post is usually how that's shown. Working with me, you sign a one-page authorization that lets me file in your name. Ask me before we start and I'll walk you through what each recipient sees.

If you'd rather avoid a copyright notice

Google's explicit-image form is a separate route, based on being the person shown rather than on copyright. It may ask for screenshots, and you can edit those so that only your face shows. Whether it fits depends on the content: see the Google guide.

And the free scan?

The scan sends the username you type to my own scan server, which runs the search and keeps the result so your report link works. Report pages are unlisted and marked noindex. Anyone with the link can open the report, so share it only with people you trust. See the privacy policy.

Quick answers

Will the person who posted it find out?

Assume yes. Under the DMCA the provider is expected to take reasonable steps to tell them the material was removed, and they can respond with a counter-notice.

Can you file without my name?

I can't promise that. A copyright notice has to name the rights holder or their agent, and some recipients forward notices or publish a copy. Ask me before we start and I'll walk you through what each one sees.
